I'm not much of a shopper, so while everyone else did their shopping, I snapped pictures. These guys are so used to being fed, that if you simply lean over the rail, the water becomes turgid with their fight to find the food. I'm afraid I disappointed them.

Cherry Grove Sunrise #3 - The storms had been heavy for the last day and through the night. It was clearing as the sun was rising. This couple was amused by my set up and my stealing of the images along the beach. Or at least HE was... they stopped and posed for me.

I loved the effects of the water and light, and all the reflections. Enjoy.

The Lone Surfboard - I absolutely love Folly Beach. During a stormy receding tide, this board was left on the beach while its owner was frolicking in the waves.

Bridgestone Building - This building was down the road from my hotel. I really loved the reflfective properties.

Towering Over Us - Marathon Motor Works was an early automobile manufacturer, based in Tennessee. It grew out of an earlier company called Southern Engine and Boiler Works, founded in 1889, which made industrial engines and boilers in Jackson. As such, the firm had metal-working and powerplant experience which could easily be transferred into the then-new and rapidly expanding automobile industry. It turned its attention in this direction shortly after the turn of the twentieth century. From 1911 to 1914 the company manufactured the Marathon automobile. The Marathon is remembered locally as being the only brand of car ever actually built in Nashville. (The present-day Nissan and Saturn facilities in the area are outside the city.) The former Marathon plant still exists and is currently home to several artistic businesses. This location is at 1200-1310 and 1305 Clinton Street, Nashville, Tennessee. This location was added to the NRHP on January 4, 1996. (NRHP Reference#: 95001482). This is the water tower on the backside of the property near the tracks.

Wings In the Wind - I spent some time out on McEntire AFB this summer. The jets were grounded due to high velocity winds. The sound of the jets taking off, landing, and lower level manuevers sends shivers up my spine and juices my adrenaline. If I could think of one word that sums up what I feel when I hear that sound, I would say "safety". I have always wanted to fly one, but the military told me my eyes were too bad for that. So I went into EOD instead.
